Hey Limette's!
Yeah, we know the VMA's & The US Open are great, but it's Fashion Week that we're obsessed with!!
Here is what we thought about the Zac Posen & Donna Karan shows...
Zac Posen: Posen chose to tone down his show a bit; which explains his choice in moving venues. With that said, Posen doesn't really do "toned down". The scene was right out of a party back in the seventies complete with booming music, disco lights and models who danced their way down the pink runway and the clothes met the mood! Posen focused on making sure each item accentuated the shape of the woman wearing the pieces, and so the focus was creating flattering shapes and silhouettes. The colors were full of liveliness and energy and the cuts were sexy. Vibrant blues, greens, pinks and oranges throughout. Color blocking and prints in a variety of sizes alluded to the fun atmosphere of the show. Gorgeous gowns with seductive necklines and sparkle to make you shine ended the show. In keeping with spring, the entire collection had a fun and youthful feel. Glam-Glam-Glam!
Here are our favorite ready-to-wear Posen pieces:

Donna Karan: Donna Karan, whose fall collection has been endlessly praised, continued the momentum at her spring 2010 show, receiving wonderful reviews. Slightly altering the fabrics and color palettes, the main focus, of being wearable, real life clothing, remained. Karan said her collection was inspired by the power of the elements; which explains the airy, sweeping effect across many of the garments regardless of the tailoring and drapery. Keeping to her staple fabrics of linen and jersey, her pieces were dominated with movement. Skirt suits to body-loving draped dresses, her pieces were wonderfully wearable. As wearable as her fabrics were, so too were her colors. Neutrals with a splash of red, she had the perfect balance of fiery sophistication. The ready to wear collection has us feeling we could go from the boardroom to cocktails with ease and grace. Karan has once again reached her audience, creating pieces that juxtapose power and femininity with every thread.
We loved every piece, but we narrowed down our top picks to these:
