Hey Limette's!
Yesterday may have been Valentine’s Day, but that didn't stop the fabulous & fashionable; everyone was out and about for day 4 of NYC Fashion Week. In the Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti show we saw lots of dark colors and menswear-inspired jackets. Thick wool coats, butter leather & intricate lace melted together to form an impressive show. The designer revisited her boy-girl theme with a romantic twist, leaving the small and intimate audience in awe.
Victoria Beckham made fashion week proud, as she proved, once again, that she is a fabulous designer and is here to stay. For her presentation Posh spoke about each dress and their inspiration. Known primarily for her tight silhouettes Beckham’s collection featured designs in bright colors with exquisite drapery. There was truly not a bad garment in the bunch. Posh’s exquisite style and mastery of shape & silhouette shows that she has the power to be a fashion leader for years to come.
Lela Rose’s fall 2010 collection featured a wide array of textures. Inspired by the Galapagos Islands landscape, Vila Celmins graphite drawings of nighttime skies, and telescope images of lunar floors, the fall collection brought a whole new meaning to fierce. While the collection wasn't daring or avante garde, the pieces were different in a refreshing way. Pops of color & mixtures of texture made the cocktail gowns head turning pieces! As the designer described it "it is about exploring the different textures observed in the universe".
Stay tuned into the Juicer all week for fashion updates, trend spotting and ready-to-wear runway reports directly from the tents!
Lots of Lime,
