Hey Limette's!
London Fashion Week is in full effect & LLD is, as promised, back with more fabulous trends directly from the runway. Here is what had us seeing lime....
Antonio Berardi designs for a woman's body. With curve hugging silhouettes and body-conscious fabrics, he compliments the female shape in a sexy way. While the pieces were not avant guard head turners, they certainly came together as a wearable collection. My personal favorites were the more dramatic, award show worthy, two pack of red velvet gowns with up-to-there leg slits & back drapery which revealed sparkle embroidery on a nude canvas that closed the show.

Marios Schwab said backstage "I was the only boy in the sewing school in the Annahof Schule in Salzburg! I had this kind of nostalgia for the ladies who taught me, and who dressed in traditional dirndls on a Sunday. It made me think about working on décolletés". It seems like he has let this influence shine through. His Fall 2010 collection focused on high neck frocks & pant suits w/ the details in bolero jackets, bodices crisscrossed with lacing, and steel clips. His embroidery focuses on showcasing décolletés and has a subdued sex appeal to them.
"Opulence for day-to-day life," was how Inacio Ribeiro described the collection. Suzanne Clements and Inacio Ribeiro are the masterminds behind the Clements Ribeiro collection that had a luxe overload of print, embroidery, and appliqué. With everything from sweater dressing to embellishments & outerwear, each trend that was sent down the runway had its own unique twist balancing femininity and structure, elegance and casual. The looks were generally quite wearable with a few costumey pieces mixed in for our viewing pleasure. From head turning metallic pants to embroidered cardigans and flirty florals, this collection offered us a way to be glamorous all the time.
