It may not have been red, but the carpet at the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) last night was just as fierce. The purple carpet made the best dressed celebs pop even more. The ceremony, held at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall brought out the glamorous and fabulous of the fashion industry. ##
MTV Movie Awards: Best Dressed

While it really is quickly becoming the most awkward, boring, unprofessional and crass awards show out there, I still tune into the MTV Movie Awards. The music may be lost over at the MTV studios, but the fashion and the red carpet glam still exists. Here are my picks for best dressed (with some not-so-awesome commentaries mixed in!). ##
Resort 2012: Michael Kors

Resort 2012 is underway and while there are more designers for me to review, I am giving Michael Kors Resort 2012 the spot at the top of my list. With wearable, creative, sexy and energetic pieces he truly delivered. Literally giving us a piece for every occasion, the looks were clean and tailored (as MK always is) but packed a lot of punch and attitude. My personal favorites? Well read on...
Vogue Italia's cover features 3 Plus Size Models

(Photo: Models.com)
Dear Franca Sozzani, thank you. Love, the plus size community

Every time another instance of curvy acceptance occurs, I can't help but do a happy dance (literally). Franca Sozzani, editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, has been quoted saying the following about curvy women "Why should these women slim down? Many of the women who have a few extra kilos are especially beautiful and also more feminine". Her strong words are not all she has done for the community, she has devoted an entire section of the Vogue Italia website to the full figured & fabulous ; V Curvy . To add to her roster of strides for the plus side, we now have the unbelievably styled and amazingly photographed June 2011 cover which includes 3 of the world's hottest plus size models.

Stars descend on the Riviera city every May, and at the end of the festival (which runs from May 11th-22nd) we are left with countless photographs of the stars on the red carpet. This year almost everyone impressed me at one event or another, so I narrowed it down to these few stars who looked beyond fabulous..

With hundreds of conferences, tweet-ups, meet-ups etc. for networking, it is difficult to make time to decide on what to go to, let alone attend. Between running LLD, the launch of my new business Bridal Plus, watching my fabulous niece 5 days a week and trying to organize my life, sometimes my schedule just won't allow another thing! But, after attending yesterdays 140 Conference in Central Isplip, Long Island it looks like I am going to have to work harder to make the time. The event was new to me, while many of my fashion industry colleagues attended the Fashion140 at Lincoln Center on May 4th, I had not been able to attend. The live tweets, positive buzz and amazing praise of that event led me to believe that I should really make my way to the next 140 conference, and so I did.##
